Threading - What is threading? Threading is a system of hair removal that originated in Southern Asia or Arabia – its exact origins are unclear, but
it has been practised in this part of the world for as long as anyone knows, girls in that part of the world learn it from a very young age. It is called
“khite” in Arabic and “fatiah” in Egyptian.

Threading can be used to remove hair anywhere on the body, but is most commonly used on the face as it is best suited to small areas. It is
commonly used for eyebrow shaping and removing hair from the upper lip.

Why threading? As threading removes several hairs at a time, it is faster and less painful than plucking, where hairs are removed one at a time.
An experienced threadist can shape eyebrows more quickly than they can be plucked, and with less pain. It provides smooth, clean lines. In most
cases, threading will cause a finer, less-dense hair re-growth. The speed of re-growth depends on a number of factors, but is usually several weeks.
Threading is suitable for removable of all hair types – fine, coarse, long or short. I was trained by lovely Asian ladies with thick hair, so have
experience of this type of hair as well as finer types of hair. Risk of infection is low, as I always employ good hygiene principles.

Other benefits of threading are that it is environmentally friendly – no harsh chemicals are used. The risk of allergic reaction is reduced for this
reason.

Drawbacks - As with all systems of hair removal that remove hair below the surface of the skin, ingrowing hairs are possible. Regular exfoliation
helps to prevent this.

Eyebrows really frame our faces, and, for those of us who are a little over 21, darker eyebrows can make us look younger. I can also advise on
ways of shading or tinting your eyebrows.

Hot Stone Massage - Hot stone massage uses stone made from basalt (because they hold the heat well) to massage various parts of the body.
Stones are smooth to the touch, and heated in water until they are at the desired temperature. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles. Hot
stone massage can be used to treat conditions including:

Back Pain and Aches

Poor Circulation

Osteoarthritis and Arthritis Pain

Stress, Anxiety and Tension

Insomnia

Depression

I start by completing a history sheet - to find out about you and whether you have any conditions that make hot stone massage inadvisable. I
then use the heat from the stones to warm my hands prior to giving you a relaxing massage, then use the stones to give a deeper tissue massage.
